Even though the Lakers were down by 14 points at the end of the first quarter against the Timberwolves – a trend that now extends to three games, head coach Frank Vogel was happy with his team’s effort to start the game.

“I thought the effort was a lot better in the first quarter than the last two,” he said postgame. “Bron wanted to set the tone, I thought he did come out and laid it all out there and set a great tone for our group. Just put the ball in the basket.

“0-10 from three in the first quarter again. That just puts us behind the eight ball. we’re going to continue to work on shot quality and got to figure out a way to put the ball in the basket.”
