Few would have predicted that at this stage of the season the Lakers would ninth in the Western Conference with little hope of making the playoffs. But that is the reality that the purple and gold is facing.

According to James Worthy, who won three NBA championships as a Laker, the team is very stagnant and predictable which makes the game easier for their opponents.

“The struggle is the same,” Worthy said on Spectrum SportsNet. “They just don’t seem to get out the gates that quick and they are not playing that well to start. When they get down, they’re still not together.

“They move the ball sometimes and they get good shots and a lot of times they’re very stagnant, very predictable and I think teams have caught on to that. They’re not afraid of the Lakers anymore. Without some consistency in your offense or defense you’re very vulnerable and I think teams kind of know that about the Lakers now.”
