Patrick Beverley spent four years with the Los Angeles Clippers before joining the Minnesota Timberwolves. In an interview the 33-year-old point guard opened about what made him leave L.A.

It turns out that the Clippers offered him a contract that he found to be ‘disrespectful.’ “We in the Western Conference Finals, something the team has never done,” Beverley said, per Darryn Albert of Larry Brown Sports.

“Me being there from the beginning, I’m thinking that this contract extension, I’m thinking it’s going to be easy. I walk in and they throw me a number that I felt was borderline disrespectful.”

Beverley and the T-Wolves are on pace to making the play-in tournament and a chance to fight for a playoff spot. This season he is averaging 9.1 points, 4.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists in 26.1 minutes per game.
