Kendrick Perkins believes Memphis’ superstar Ja Morant will become the next star, after Giannis Antetokounmpo, to bring a title to an NBA small market.

The former NBA champion and current ESPN analyst has made some very brave remarks on Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies this season, after climbing to the Top-4 of the Western Conference.

Morant, who missed some games due to injury and NBA protocols, has been amazing, averaging All-Star numbers for the pesky Grizzlies team. As a result, Perkins could have a point that Ja could be the next Giannis, who led the Bucks to the NBA title after 50 years last summer.

The superstar guard averages 24.5 points, 6.6 assists and 5.7 rebounds through 24 games this year. He’s shooting 38 percent from beyond the arc and 47 percent from the field.

In the last Memphis’ game, Morant dropped 41 points, making a career-high six threes vs the Los Angeles Lakers. The Grizzlies improved to 22-14 after Thursday’s win over LA.
