New York Knicks guard RJ Barrett is the latest one to join the increasing number of players under the NBA’s health and safety protocols.

As reported by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium, the former No. 3 overall pick will also miss the Knicks’ upcoming clash against Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks on Sunday. His teammate, Obi Toppin, was also shelved due to the COVID-19 mandates on Saturday.

In order to return, Barrett needs to show two negative COVID-19 PCR test results in a 24-hour timeframe.

The 21-year-old Canadian hooper is averaging 15.1 markers, 5.6 boards and 2.1 dimes in 31.4 minutes for the 12-14 New York team that is having a slugging progress so far this 2021-2022 season.
