After their biggest win of the season against the Kings, the Lakers took on city rivals the Clippers and were defeated. The purple and gold made costly defensive mistakes during crucial minutes of the game which shows their lack of defensive connectivity, according to James Worthy.

“The Clippers executed well,” the three-time NBA champion said on Spectrum SportsNet. “They took what the Lakers gave them down the stretch. I think the Lakers had their chances. I thought the spin move by Westbrook, I think they should have waited a little bit and let the offense flow a little bit.

“I think double-teaming early on Paul George.. I would have let him hurt me a couple of times before I.. obviously he could see it coming and then to leave Kennard open was a little bit strange for me down the stretch the way they allowed him to close the game out. They’re just not connected defensively and that’s costing them games.”
