EuroLeague Round 9 came to an end on Friday night, with Real Madrid and Armani Milano maintaining their momentum.

The “Whites” rallied past Zalgiris Kaunas at home (95-82) and remained one win away from the top of the standings (7-2). Real Madrid were in control from start to finish and claimed the victory, despite Zalgiris’ effort to come back. The Lithuanians still are the only winless team in the EuroLeague (0-9).

For their part, Armani Milano decimated Fenerbahce on the road (43-68) and secured the top spot in the league for another week. The Italians made an explosive start to the game (3-22) and never looked back. Playing excellent on both ends, they handed Fenerbahce one of the heaviest loss in club history. The Turks dropped to 3-6 on the table.

In Saint Petersburg, Zenit used a strong fourth quarter to edge Olympiacos (84-78) and maintain a top four push. The “Greeks” made a comeback in the third quarter (58-59), but the Russians stood tall in the final part of the game and sealed the deal. Both teams now have identical records (6-3).

Monaco relied on its offense and dominated Bayern Munich at home to return to the winning track (94-71). The hosts were in control from the opening tip, led by 12 at halftime (55-43) and cruised to the win. Monaco improved to 5-4, whereas Bayern has now lost two straight and is at 3-6.
