Los Angeles Lakers veteran Carmelo Anthony used to be teammates with now-retired forward Kenyon Martin when the two played for the Denver Nuggets.
Now Melo is facing Kenyon Martin Jr., the son of his former teammate. After the game against the Houston Rockets Anthony was asked how it feels for him to play against the guy who he remembers as a little kid.
“KJ was somebody who used to run around the house when he was in Denver,” Melo said. “He used to come to the house, play games and just run around. And now to see him where he’s at now it’s special for me to watch that, to know that I’ve seen him grow into a professional basketball player.
“Being in the same locker room, being a friend to his father and now we’re all on the same court. When you put it in perspective it’s crazy. But I try not to think about it because it just makes you realize this is 19 years.”
