His presence not only makes the team more dangerous offensively, but also helps the players stay focused, according to head coach Frank Vogel, who was asked a question about the impact that the four-time NBA champion has on his teammates when he is available.
“For sure. He’s our leader, has the ability to settle us down or to challenge us if things are getting sloppy,” Vogel said postgame. “Player accountability is huge in this league and he’s great with that. So yes, I do sense that that’s a factor.”
