Jason Richardson will not make his debut with the Boston Celtics in the season opener vs. Knicks on Wednesday. Boston ruled the veteran guard out with migraine.

It’s unclear if the injury is a minor and short-term issue, but the Celtics have the depth to cover for Richardson at least for the game vs. New York.

Richardson may be back as soon as the team’s home opener against the Toronto Raptors this Friday, Oct. 22. In the meantime, Dennis Schroder, Romeo Langford and Aaron Nesmith could receive an uptick in their minutes tonight.

Head coach Ime Udoka is going to make his debut with the Celtics, after joining the team this past offseason. Udoka will also register his first NBA game as an NBA head coach.
