FC Barcelona will be forced to play without forward Alex Abrines for the first part of the season and is now in search for an addition to the roster.

Abrines suffered a left knee injury earlier this week and underwent surgery on Thursday to repair the damage. As FC Barcelona announced, the Spanish forward will be out for the next four months and his return will take place in January.

As a result, the Catalans will search the market for a suitable replacement in order to cover the absence of Abrines and bolster the roster. If they don’t sign a player eventually, head coach Sarunas Jasikevicius will need to redistribute the roles in the team.

FC Barcelona also has its sights set on the start of the new season in the ACB (vs Murcia on Sunday) and the EuroLeague (Friday, October 1 vs ALBA Berlin).
