The Catalans have the option to renew the contract of Abrines for next season, yet they are planning to offer him a new one, which will be less lucrative.
It seems FC Barcelona wants to have a budget reduction next season, that’s why they don’t want to automatically renew Abrines’ current contract.
The talks between the two sides are ongoing and it remains to be seen if there will be an agreement before the end of the current season.
