Houston Rockets are nearing an extension with Australian point guard Dante Exum, according to Shams Charania of the Athletic.

Exum played only 24 games last season, but he returned to full health during the Tokyo Olympics and averaged 9.0 points and 2.8 assists per contest.

He was drafted by the Jazz with the fifth overall pick in 2014. The club eventually sent him to the Cavaliers in December 2019.

Then, the Cavs shipped him to the Rockets as part of the four-team trade that finalized the deal that sent James Harden to Brooklyn last season.
