Veteran big man Kenneth Faried is set to work out with the Los Angeles Lakers this week, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

Faried has played eight seasons in the NBA and has averaged 11.4 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. If he joins the Lakers, he is expected to bring a high level of energy and strength in the team’s frontline.

The 2020 NBA champions are still in search for another big man in order to complete their roster, after parting ways with former champion Marc Gasol.

At the same time, though, their roster moves have made them one of the grand favorites for the NBA championship, with several sports betting websites, like fun88, placing them on top with the best betting odds.

The Lakers will start their preseason games on October 3, when they face fellow title contender, the Brooklyn Nets, while their season opener is vs the Golden State Warriors on October 19.
