Nick Nurse will remain the head coach of Canada for another three years, after signing a contract extension until the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
“Canada Basketball announced Monday that the organization has signed Senior Men’s National Team head coach Nick Nurse to a multi-year contract extension that will run through the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Nurse was named head coach of the Senior Men’s National Team in June 2019 and coached Canada at both the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019 and this summer at the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Victoria, British Columbia,” the Basketball Federation of Canada officially announced.
Coach Nurse and Canada failed to reach the Olympic Games this year, after getting eliminated by the Czech Republic in the Qualifying Tournament.
Now, the experienced coach and 2019 NBA champion with the Toronto Raptors has his sights set on creating a talented and deep roster that will let Canada compete for a medal in the Olympics.
