Even though the Los Angeles Lakers have already added eight new players to the roster, namely Russell Westbrook, Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, Trevor Ariza, Kent Bazemore, Wayne Ellington, Malik Monk and Kendrick Nunn, the team is still active in free agency.
According to Marc Stein, the Lakers have weighed the potential signing of Isaiah Thomas who has previously wore Purple and Gold in 2018 for 17 games. The 32-year-old point guard last played in the NBA with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2021. He appeared in 3 games averaging 7.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game.
Thomas is a two-time NBA All-Star and had his best season individually in 2016-2017 when he averaged 28.9 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists per game for the Boston Celtics.
