Kemba Walker gave up $20 million over two years while agreeing to a buyout with the Oklahoma City Thunder, per Keith Smith of Sportrac.

Walker, who was the centerpiece in the trade between Boston and OKC in June, has signed a contract with the New York Knicks in free agency.

The veteran guard returns home by signing for $8 million per season over his two-year deal, per Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer.

Walker could help the Knicks remain in the upper echelon of the Eastern Conference this coming season. Last season, the NY franchise returned to the playoffs after eight years.

They were one of the best defenses in the league, however their lack of shot creators was evident during the first round playoff matchup vs. Atlanta.

Walker will address the Knicks’ scoring issues, and he will be a huge veteran presence alongside second-year guard Immanuel Quickley
