Australia improved its record to 3-0 as the Boomers cruised past Germany (89-76) to remain atop of Group B in the preliminary round of the Olympic Tournament.

After a close-fought battle in the first three quarters of the game, Australia ended up taking a 10-point lead (69-59) early in the fourth quarter and never looked back again until the end of the contest.

Patty Mills led the winning side with 24 points and six assists, while Jock Landale added 18 points. Nick Kay followed with 16 to help Australia complete a perfect preliminary round in Tokyo.

As for Germany, who have to wait for the remaining games in Group A and C to see if they will advance to the quarter-finals, Andreas Obst led his team in scoring with 17 points.
