Boston Celtics are reportedly close to an agreement with Brooklyn’s assistant Ime Udoka to cover the team’s vacant head coach position.

Skip Bayless took to Twitter to react to Udoka’s hire claiming he ‘was amazed’ by the fact that no NBA team chose him as the head coach the previous years.

“Congrats, Celtics Nation, on hiring Ime Udoka. I have long believed he has all the right traits to become a great head coach. I was amazed no one hired him all those years he was Pop’s lead assistant. Players love/respect him. Commanding presence. Great fit for these Celts,” the TV persona twitted.

Ime Udoka has spent the last two seasons in one-year stints with the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets. From 2012 to 2019, Udoka was an assistant with the Spurs, winning an NBA title with them in 2014.
