The possibility of EuroLeague and NBA Europe operating separately remains on the table as discussions over the future structure of European basketball continue.
The NBA and FIBA are moving forward with plans for NBA Europe, while EuroLeague is simultaneously preparing its own expansion from 16 to 24 teams for the 2027-28 season.
Although the NBA has made an offer concerning possible cooperation with EuroLeague, neither organization has publicly explained its exact terms.
Multiple sources indicate that the proposal does not involve an NBA takeover of EuroLeague and, in its current form, may not be enough to establish a partnership.
With less than a year remaining before the expected launch of NBA Europe, the organizations still have time to explore the possibility of working together.
If no agreement is reached, however, EuroLeague and NBA Europe could operate independently and compete within the European basketball market.
