Gilbert Arenas does not believe Davion Mitchell starting at point guard should prevent the Miami Heat from competing for an NBA championship.
Arenas argued that championship teams do not necessarily need an elite offensive player at point guard, particularly when their best players are capable of controlling the offense themselves.
“Every dynasty we’ve seen, who’s the PG? When the Lakers were the lakers, who’s were the PGs? When the Bulls was the Bulls, who was the PG?
“The best players are the best players. – The ball needs to be in the best players hands. Miami having their PG that can just play defense, hit shots, that’s Derrick Fisher!”
