The Los Angeles Lakers tied the first round series against the Phoenix Suns after winning Game 2 at Talking Stick Resort Arena. Anthony Davis led the winners in scoring with 34 points, followed Dennis Schroder with 24 and LeBron James with 23.

After the gam, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel shared his thoughts on the win. “That’s playoff basketball. You’re going to make runs,” he said. “We came out with great assertiveness and attention to detail and focus and defensive pressure.

“Obviously this is a great team that we’re playing even short-handed with the way CP3’s limited, didn’t play in the fourth. Still getting great play from all their guys. This is a team with the second best record in the NBA. So it’s not going to be a situation where it’s easy to knock them out in any game. But our guys came out strong and we were able to hold on.”
