LeBron James will be available for the series against the Phoenix Suns despite violating the NBA health and safety protocols prior to the play-in game vs. the Warriors.
Lakers’ head coach Frank Vogel was asked to share his thoughts on James’ actions claiming that ‘he knows what he’s doing’ and that he trusts his decision-making.
James attended an event promoting his tequila brand, ESPN’s Dave McMenamin reports. The NBA decided for the Lakers’ superstar to not face a suspension despite being strict with COVID protocols this season.
Several key NBA players were suspended for violating safety protocols this season including James Harden, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving and others.
The Lakers will face the Suns in the first round of the 2021 NBA playoffs after securing the seventh seed via the play-in tournament.
