The Los Angeles Lakers are set to begin their title defense in the NBA playoffs tomorrow against the Phoenix Suns. One of the goals for the Purple and Gold is to take the home court advantage from their opponents.

Anthony Davis shared his thoughts on what his team needs to do in order to secure a win in Game 1. “They got two guys as the head of the snake. You got Book and CP,” he said after practice. “Those two guys running their team offensively. They make sure that these guys play right.

“They got a scoring machine with Book and a guy who has a very high IQ and can run a team with Chris Paul. Great coach and coaching staff. They got a lot of players around them that make their team a great team.

“What we did in game 3 (our last game against them), we just came out of the gates defending and rebounding and running, playing our style of basketball. If we are able to do that, hold their free-throw attempts, they’re the best mid-range shooting team they’re the best shooting team but also the best mid-range shooting team and three-point shooting team and free-throw shooting team.

“We got to be able to limit those free-throw attempts, hold their mid-range attempts and if they are mid-range attempts, then make them contested. If we do all those things, then we should be able to grab Game 1.”
