Real Madrid’s talented prospect Usman Garuba was named this season’s EuroLeague rising star. Garuba had a great series against Efes in the competition’s quarterfinals providing the necessary spark for the ‘Whites’ all-season long.

Garuba, 19, averaged 3.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 0.6 steals and 0.7 blocks in 16 minutes per contest being one of the two Real Madrid’s players to participate in every EuroLeague game this season.

He recorded 20 starts with the EuroLeague giants, the most by any Rising Star candidate this season. Rokas Jakubaitis came second in the voting by EuroLeague head coaches.

Garuba is the second Real Madrid player to claim an individual award this season with Walter Tavares being named the best defender of the EuroLeague on Wednesday.
