Real Madrid big man Walter Tavares claimed his second consecutive EuroLeague Best Defender Award, after another impressive season with the ‘Whites’.

Tavares led the league in blocks averaging 1.8 per game forcing his opponents to shot 34 percent from the field, according to EuroLeague.

Real Madrid’s center claimed his second consecutive best defender award. Kyle Hines of Olimpia Milano and Bryant Dunston of Anadolu Efes finished second and third in the voting, respectively.

Tavares averaged 11.4 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 1.8 blocks per game for Real Madrid this season.
