Luka Doncic explains why he organized Slovenia minicamp

Luka Doncic used the offseason to bring his Los Angeles Lakers teammates together by organizing a five-day gathering in his home country of Slovenia.

The trip included a chartered flight, basketball activities, meals at some of Doncic’s favorite restaurants, golf, rowing at Lake Bled and visits around Ljubljana.

With Los Angeles undergoing major roster turnover, the Slovenian star said developing relationships within the new group was the main reason behind the trip.

“There’s a lot of new guys on the team,” Doncic said. “Building chemistry is very important. That was the first thought, just to get the guys together. That’s why I wanted to do it.”
