Despite bringing Victor Oladipo in with a long-term view, the Houston Rockets are understood to be ready to let the player go on the back of a 20-game losing streak. The barren run ended on Monday night as the Rockets beat the Toronto Raptors 117-99, yet Oladipo’s name has been involved in trade talks and, per The Athletic‘s Shams Charania, could leave Houston in exchange for a very good young player or a first-round pick.
The Miami Heat, New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons are all said to be interested in the 28-year-old guard.
“The two-time All-Star is in the final season of his four-year, $85 million contract, and sources tell The Athletic that Houston has discussed the 28-year-old with multiple teams. Our Shams Charania reported Monday that Houston’s asking price is to be a good young player or a first-round pick. Charania added that Miami, New York and Detroit are among teams interested in trading for Oladipo.”
Oladipo, a two-time All-Star, is averaging 20.8 points and 4.7 assists per game this season.
