Some of the NBA stars, namely LeBron James, Damian Lillard, Kyle Lowry and Jimmy Butler, shared their thoughts on receiving criticism from the Inside the NBA crew.

The topic of NBA legends calling out today’s stars resurfaced after Shaquille O’Neal said to Donovan Mitchell that he doesn’t have what it takes to make it to the next level. The four-time champion received criticism for his comments but stood his ground, calling modern players ‘pudding pops’.

“It’s always interesting when you see Hall of Famers out there speaking on your game,” Lillard said in a promotional video called The Inside Story. “When it’s negative, you’re like ‘Man, I wish he didn’t say that.’ When it’s positive, you feel some sense of validation.”

“I get criticized a lot from those guys. Besides EJ [Ernie Johnson]. Kenny [Smith] too. Shaq and Charles, I appreciate it to be honest because they’re Hall of Famers,” Lowry shared his thoughts.

They say good things. They things that I don’t like,” Butler said. “You gotta to take the crookeds with the straights. It’s all truthful, I tell you that.”

“They sit up there and they shoot they sh*t,” James said. “They say what they say. You either respect it or not. They don’t hold back, especially Chuck. But you respect it because they actually put in the work.”
