NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal was blunt when talking to the Utah Jazz star Donovan Mitchell. The four-time champion told Mitchell he doesn’t have what it takes to get to the next level.
“I said tonight that you are one of my favorite players but you don’t have what it takes to get to the next level. I said it on purpose. What do you have to say about that?” Shaq asked Mitchell.
“Aight… That’s it… I’ve been hearing that since my rookie year. I’m just going to get better at doing what I do at the end of the day,” the 24-year-old guard replied.
This season, Mitchell is averaging 24.3 points, 3.9 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game for Utah.
