The Lakers are showing interest to sign Andre Drummond through the buyout market, according to Sam Amico of Forty Eight Minutes.

The defending champions are in search for a big man, with Anthony Davis out, due to a calf strain, and Drummond could be among the candidates.

Per Amico, the Lakers will be interested in signing Drummond only if he hits the buyout market.

“Along with the Knicks, Drummond continues to be linked to the Brooklyn Nets, Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers. The Lakers and Dallas Mavericks are said to only be interested in the event Drummond hits the buyout market,” Amico writes.

The Lakers are currently 24-11, good for second in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, Drummond is averaging 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game in 25 games.

The Cleveland Cavaliers have decided to not play Drummond until they trade him.
