Talen Horton-Tucker has adopted a specific mentality regarding his role and his playing time with the Lakers this season.

Horton-Tucker, who is coming off the bench for the defending champions, has a ‘next man up’ mentality this season and just wants to be ready every single night.

“I just try to stay ready throughout everything. Not kind of knowing what role I’ll play when the game starts is kind of hard, so it’s just being able to stay ready and just come in and do what I do is good.

With basketball being how it is, I expect to come in every game and try to be like that. But you know it’s not going to be like that every game. So my goal is to come in and do kind of what I did today. Just anything to help us win,” Horton-Tucker said, via Christian Rivas of Silver Screen and Roll.

Talen Horton-Tucker has played in 17 games for the Lakers this season, averaging 7.1 points, 2.4 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
