Two Euroleague clubs have been sanctioned with a fine for violations of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code during Euroleague Rgular Season Round 1 games.

Reigning champions Maccabi will have to pay 1,500 Euros, meanwhile Greek giants Panathinaikos will part way with 5,000 Euros.

The official announcement is as follows:

Euroleague Basketball has announced disciplinary sanctions pertaining to incidents that occurred in Round 1 of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season. The sanctions are based on infractions of the competition by-laws that all teams are aware of and obliged to fulfill. The following sanctions were handed down for Regular Season Round 1:

– Maccabi Electra Tel-Aviv has been sanctioned with a fine of 1,500 Euros for the throwing of objects onto the playing area on its home game against Limoges CSP, under Article 29.2, paragraph (g) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code

– Panathinaikos Athens has been sanctioned with a fine of 5,000 Euros for the use of laser pointers on its home game against PGE Turow Zgorzelec, under Article 29.2, paragraph (f) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code
