Damian Lillard opened up about his role in the offseason moves of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Lillard admitted he made his suggestions to the Blazers’ front office on the players that would fit with the team, but never made any demands.

“Yeah, I mean in the offseason I have personal relationships with my teammates so I don’t like to be the guy responsible for saying, ‘All right, let’s do this and let’s get rid of this guy and let’s bring in this guy.’

But (the Blazers front office) asked me, you know, to name a few players that I liked, that I felt like could help our team. And I did that.

And you know, our front office did their job. I didn’t go in there (and) demand anything. They just asked me the names of players I liked, and that’s what I did.

I think that we did a great job of bringing in guys that can actually help our team. You know, I think DJ and RoCo both make us a better team defensively,” Lillard told Sam Amick of The Athletic.

Lillard and the Blazers (2-1) want to extend their winning streak to three games, as they take on the Los Angeles Clippers (3-1) on Wednesday.
