The head coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves Ryan Saunders has been impressed by the defense of the Los Angeles Lakers.
Saunders noted the Lakers don’t get enough credit for the defense they play, even though it was the key to winning the title last season.
“There’s a reason they’re the world champs. They take you out of things. They’re a really good defensive team, and they don’t get enough credit for that. They had a sense of urgency from the start,” Saunders said about the Lakers, via Greg Beacham of the Associated Press.
The Lakers relied on their defense to dominate the Timberwolves at home on Sunday (127-91).
