The Los Angeles Lakers great and current Clippers Executive board member Jerry West named one player which reminds him of Magic Johnson in today’s NBA. It is the Dallas Mavericks young superstar Luka Doncic.
“He’s amazing, he really is. He’s one of those transitional players that I call them ‘decade players’ they don’t come along very often,” West told Dave Wohl on Dave’s Front Office podcast about Luka Doncic.
“He’s just remarkable player. He plays with a joy. His size, his ability to rebound, to pass the ball. And you can see the players have enormous respect for him. He always has this kind of smile on his face when he plays. He kind of reminds me of Earving [Magic] Johnson right there.”
Doncic is projected by many to win the MVP title this season which will be only his third in the league. Last season, Luka averaged 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game helping the Mavs return to the playoffs.
