Doc Rivers had nothing but good words to say about Joel Embiid and how he played against the Boston Celtics.
Rivers said Embiid was ‘phenomenal’ in his preseason debut with the Sixers.
“Phenomenal. It’s a great example, Joel, we ran our stuff, but we didn’t run his stuff and he still got 18. That’s one of the things that I was telling him, we can run continuity offense, and not even run any plays for you, but you’re still going to end up with the ball because you’re the best player, and you’ll see that happen.
That happened tonight, and I thought that was a great thing for Joel,” Rivers told reporters, via Sixers Wire.
Embiid had 18 points, on 6-for-14 shooting, in almost 17 minutes of action.
