The New Orleans Pelicans are looking to add young talent to their roster’s promising core to help Zion Williamson in the future.

One of those future prospects could be Tyrese Maxey. The former Kentucky combo guard said, during his pre-draft interview, that he only worked out for the Pelicans during the pre-draft process.

Maxey averaged 14.0 points, 3.2 assists and shot 42.7% from the field on over 11 attempts per game in his freshman year.

He is projected to be a mid-late pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Maxey would make more sense for New Orleans, if the franchise decides to trade Jrue Holiday.

Otherwise, the promising guard will be added to the likes of Jrue Holiday, JJ Redick, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and Nickeil Alexander-Walker on the roster next season.
