Mark Cuban compared the playing style of LeBron James in 2020 to the one in 2011, when he was playing for the Miami Heat.

The owner of the Dallas Mavericks (who saw his team defeat the Heat and win the 2011 NBA title) said the current version of James is ‘night and day’ compared to 2011.

“It’s night and day. He has the basketball-IQ level now; he’s just a basketball savant. The way he sees and reads what’s happening on the court in real time and stays three steps ahead is incredible.

And that’s what makes him special – in addition to his athleticism. He didn’t have that [back in 2011]. We would run a zone against him and he would hesitate and not know what to do.

He’s not going to hesitate now. He knows exactly what’s coming and what to do and anticipates it,” Cuban said, via Etan Thomas of Basketballnews.com.

James and the Lakers are one step away from winning the title, as they lead the series against the Heat 3-1.

Game 5 is on Friday.
