Carmelo Anthony opened up about the triangle offense and why it did not work for the New York Knicks during the Phil Jackson era.

During his appearance on JJ Redick’s podcast, Anthony said he did his best to run it effectively and even asked Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant for advice.

However, the multiple time All-Star believes the triangle offense did not work, because the Knicks did not have the right personnel to run it.

The Knicks were expected to fight for the playoffs back in the 2016/17 season, with Anthony, Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah and Kristaps Porzingis in the roster.

Yet, New York won only 31 games and did not make it to the postseason.
