The Philadelphia 76ers and New Orleans Pelicans have already reached out to Doc Rivers in regards to their head coach openings, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated.

Former Houston Rockets head coach Mike D’Antoni was recently reportedly the front-runner to land the 76ers’ job, so Rivers becoming available could shake up the team’s coaching search.

Rivers parted ways with the Los Angeles Clippers after a seven-year stint, accumulating a record of 356-208 over that span.

The 58-year-old coach led the team to the playoffs in six of those seven years, but never got past the second round.

Meanwhile, Tyronn Lue and Jeff Van Gundy are now considered the leading coaching candidates for the win-now Clippers led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
