The New Orleans Pelicans point guard Lonzo Ball decided to leave Jay-Z’s Roc Nation just a few months after joining it. The 22-year-old joined the likes of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Ben Simmons and Trae Young at Klutch Sports.

The eldest son of LaVar Ball explained the move as wanting to lead his career. A part of that was choosing who will represent him.

Per Malika Andrews of ESPN:

“I wanted to lead my career,” Ball told ESPN. “Picking my own representation — just solely as my decision — was step one in that process. For me, it was an easy call, and it was the right time to make that call.”

In his first season with the Pelicans, Lonzo averaged 11.8 points, 6.1 rebounds and seven assists per game.
