Jeff Van Gundy shared his thoughts on former Phoenix Suns and current Fenerbahce head coach, Igor Kokoskov.

Van Gundy called Kokoskov ‘a brilliant, brilliant coach’ and a ‘tremendous teacher of offense’.

“In Phoenix, he had a bad team. It is impossible to overcome bad teams. When I watched his Slovenian teams, he was a tremendous teacher of offense. He is a brilliant, brilliant coach.

The skill level and commitment to screen and reading is great. It is never about the actions, but how they play out of it, their commitment to helping each other play well. One to watch,” Van Gundy said about Kokoskov during his recent appearance in the ”World of Basketball” podcast with Fran Fraschilla on SiriusXM.

Kokoskov led Slovenia to the gold medal in the 2017 EuroBasket. He was the head coach of the Phoenix Suns and also worked as an assistant for the Sacramento Kings.

This summer, he took over EuroLeague powerhouse Fenerbahce.
