Zalgiris officially announced the addition of American guard-forward James Anderson for one year as a replacement for Martynas Pocius who leaft Kaunas side for Galatasaray.

Anderson spent the last season in NBA with Philadelphia 76ers. He started 62 out of 82 games for the Sixers. He averaged 10.1 points and 3.8 rebounds per game the past season.

Zalgiris Director Paulius Motiejunas was delighted with Anerson’s arrival: “We are very happy that we managed to bring one more rather young players who at the same time has lots of playing experience. For players from USA Zalgiris is a gate to Euroleague and top level basketball outside NBA. We are glad that the players we are interested in understand that and uses these opportunities.”

The club’s website also quoted Anderson: “I am happy with my choice. Zalgiris is one European basketball leaders. This team makes it among Euroleague’s best every year. I’ve read that Zalgiris dominates in national league too. Also, Maalik Wayns will play for Zalgiris, therefore we should be a good team this season”.
