The Los Angeles Lakers are expecting Rajon Rondo to play in the playoffs, despite the right thumb injury he suffered.

Rondo will undergo surgery and will be sidelined for the next six to eight weeks. However, he is expected to be ready when the second round of the playoffs will begin.

“We expect Rajon to be a part of our playoff run. We’re looking at six to eight weeks puts us somewhere around the 1st to the 2nd round of the playoffs. We’re very confident he will be able to get back & be a major factor for us,” the head coach of the Lakers, Frank Vogel, told reporters.
