After the Cleveland Cavaliers acquisition of Rajon Rondo from the Los Angeles Lakers in a three-team trade, the Lakers head coach Frank Vogel says he’s happy that veteran point guard can go somewhere where he can have a bigger role but adds that Rondo “means the world” to him:

“He’s one of my favorite players I’ve ever coached… He’ll always be a special player and a special friend to me.”

The 35-year-old Rondo averaged 3.1 points and 3.7 assists this season in his second stint with the Lakers, who have struggled with chemistry and injuries along with having one of the league’s oldest rosters.
