Daryl Morey believes David Nwaba is a great fit for the Houston Rockets roster, as the franchise’s general manager said on Monday in a Zoom media call.

Nwaba is not just a replacement player, as he signed a two-year deal with Houston. The former Nets “wing” could provide cover in various roles for the Rockets with Morey has nothing but praise for his game.

“David, we think has really good potential,” said Morey per Ben DuBose of USA Today. “And obviously, you saw the deal had both this year and a future component.”

“You guys have a good sense of how we’re playing now, and the kinds of players we need for that style. We are fully committed to that with Coach and the players we have. David Nwaba, we think fits that very well. Unfortunately, given the rules, we had to cut somebody.”

Nwaba is known for his defensive ability and his incredible athleticism. With him being a potential another “3-and-D” option for the Rockets, it’s pretty understandable why he can fit perfectly to Mike D’Antoni’s small-ball system.
