Two-time NBA champion Kenny Smith shared his thoughts on which teams are the favorites to win the NBA title this season in Orlando. Unlike most, The Jet did not pick the Lakers or Clippers. He thinks that one of the younger teams will be crowned champions.
“To me the guys who had the access throughout these three months have a clear advantage. I go for the younger teams. I go for, like, Milwaukee, Denver, Boston. Those teams who are young and experienced,” Smith said on Jalen & Jacoby. “Those guys, they trained differently to get ready than a LeBron. LeBron’s teams simply rise and ascend throughout the year.”
According to Smith, veteran teams, like LeBron’s Lakers tend to “ease into” the season. Because of that, the younger teams, who train from day one like it’s the Finals, have the advantage under the current circumstances when they have to get back to playing after a three-month hiatus.
