Ex-NBA player Jalen Rose, on the latest ‘Jalen and Jacoby’ podcast, shared his thoughts on Scottie Pippen’s decision to take surgery not in the summer but at the beginning of the season (1997) and the reasons behind it.

According to Rose, Pippen felt underappreciated in the team, because he didn’t get a contract he felt he deserved.

“It was a unique storm that he was put into. A lot of people would have handled that the way he did and because of that he doesn’t get a love that he truly deserves. MJ wouldn’t have won a championship without Scottie Pippen,” Rose said.

“Scottie [Pippen] asked for a trade. He didn’t want to be there [with the Chicago Bulls] anymore. They were the most unhappy 6th championship-winning team of all time,” he added.
