Ever felt like kicking yourself for doing something silly? Well, Miami Heat President Pat Riley must have after a kick got him on the operating table back when he was coaching the team.
Udonis Haslem was on an IG Live chat with Dwyane Wade recently (it’s the thing these days) when he shared the hilarious story of Riley cursing the team out over a poor performance and then kicking the door so hard, he needed hip replacement surgery.
Udonis, hardly able to contain his laughter, said the team had no idea Pat had injured himself and didn’t see him for two weeks, only to later discover he’d blown his hip out.
The doctors must have gotten a good laugh out of it too. How often do you get a respected NBA coach/executive on your table nursing a self-inflicted injury? We imagine, not very.
